Re: Read CD-Text

Apart from minidisk, 8-track, cassettes and reel-to-reel tapes, there's no such thing as a dead format. Sales of CDs bottomed out last year. And don't forget the LP boom. I don't know why you'd want to burn a "cda" file. With many CD players now supporting alternative formats, I'd go for t...

Re: Read CD-Text

Maybe it depends on the file format you are burning to.

Just been through the process of ripping X00s of CDs.

I have never seen a CD with filenames other than Track01.cda, Track02.cda, etc.

Then again, I don't burn as the whole idea was to file a USB drive.

Re: Shortcuts in desktop can't be in visiable sometimes

I'm still not sure what this thread is about. That makes two of us. As Jon's request for more details went ignored I have just been fishing around for inspiration. It doesn't help[ that the language is confusing. What does this mean? "Shortcuts on Desktop is invisible at times which occurs fre...

Re: Shortcuts in desktop can't be in visiable sometimes

What I mean is "Shortcuts on Desktop is invisible at times which occurs frequently in shortcut that created from a new installation". Not all new installations create desktop shortcuts. Some – hint hint GPSoftware – make it optional. Some just don't do it. Is the shortcut there and invisi...

Re: Prefs/Zip & Other Archives/Archive Context Menu/Cascade Context Menu doesn't work?

I have similar "menu rot". It is for "rename" branches. These come about because I have them set up for various filetype groups and haven't worked out hot to consolidate them. Maybe this is what dkoppy also sees. The archive utilities may be connecting to different filetypes. But...

Re: Shortcuts in desktop can't be in visiable sometimes

Do you mean visible or invisible? Should the question be: "Shortcuts in desktop can't be visible sometimes?" As in, you can't see them sometimes? Or is it: "Shortcuts in desktop can't be [made] invisible sometimes?" As in you can't hide them when you want to? Whatever your questi...

Or reboot?

That can cure some temporary issues, and it is amazing how many people pride themselves on going weeks without a reboot.

Overkill indeed, Dynamic Renamer, but I took the question to be a more general one about renaming.

When it comes to questions aboiut renaming, my first port of call is usually the dedicated section of the forum:

Rename Presets - Directory Opus Resource Centre

Lots of good stuff there.

Re: Office 2016

There are various bugs in Office 2016. Indeed, quite a lot it seems. They don't all relate to viewing files – it killed Outlook for me – and Microsoft is supposed to be on the case. The best way to lean on Microsoft is probably to keep piling on the agony in places where the company might see the co...

You can say that again.

Rebooting is a regular part of the Nexus owner's life. I had to reboot today to make the connection.

Windows version? Did it ever work?

I had serious problems with a bunch of Nexus devices until I switched to Windows 10, which works like a dream. Well, mostly.

Oracle viewers are industry standard and come with other software. QuickView Plus, for example. So this might be an option for some people.

Maybe Sasa also has these viewers from some source.

The metadata panel is fairly similar. "Fairly similar" does not hack it for some of us. Nor do "similar features". A Ford Escort is "fairly similar" to an Aston Martin. they even have "similar features". Engines, four wheels and steering wheel, among other fe...
